Ruth Cate Receives Women United Leadership Award

Spartanburg attorney Ruth Cate has received the Women United Leadership Award from the United Way of Piedmont. This award is given to honor the achievement of an outstanding woman leader whose accomplishments are matched by her commitment to philanthropy.

Women United is a group within the United Way of Piedmont that is dedicated to connecting, engaging, and inspiring women to transform the community. Comprised of over 500 members, Women United’s mission is to shape the future of the community through giving, advocacy, and volunteerism.

“I am absolutely stunned and couldn’t be more pleased,” Cate said upon receiving the award.  “This was only the second time this award has never been given out, and I could not be more humbled and honored to receive it.”

Attorney Ruth Cate is the founder of Cate & Brough Law Firm, a Spartanburg-based family law practice that serves clients throughout Spartanburg, Cherokee, Greenville and Union counties of South Carolina. Ruth began her legal career in Spartanburg in 1977, and over 40+ years in practice, she has formed deep ties within Spartanburg and the surrounding communities.
